The NLFPD holds two Babysitting Academy classes during the summer. The Babysitting Academy teaches how to care for children at various stages, how to deal with strangers while babysitting, first aid, and how to pick out age appropriate activities and books. We also have several guest speakers to discuss staying safe when home alone or babysitting, and how to care for children who have special needs. Students also get hands-on fire extinguisher training and CPR/First Aid certification.

Classes are open to students ages 12-16.
