For over a decade, the New Lenox Fire Protection District has been hosting our annual Family Fun Day in August. This event offers hands-on children’s activities, demonstrations, fire engine rides and a variety of displays from area emergency services and safety organizations. It has always been a day to showcase fire and life safety that was educational and fun for all ages.

After much consideration, we have made the difficult decision to cancel Family Fun Day, which was scheduled for August 1st due to the evolving COVID-19 pandemic.

“We want to thank our residents and businesses for their unwavering support over the last few months,” stated NLFPD Chief Adam Riegel. “We know everyone has been effected by the pandemic in one way or another during these difficult times, and we were looking forward to a day to bring families together to learn about safety in a fun environment. However, we want to make sure the health and safety of our residents, vendors and first responders was our top priority in making the decision to cancel the event.”
