This afternoon at 2:43 p.m. the New Lenox Fire Protection District received a call for a car fire at S. Cedar Road and E. Fourth Avenue. When we arrived on scene, rubbish inside a garbage truck had caught fire, but the truck was able to dump it out before it sustained any damage.
New Lenox Public Works also assisted the fire district with their end loader to help extinguish the fire.
The cause of the fire is undetermined.
