(January 30, 2018) – This afternoon at 3:23 p.m. the New Lenox Fire Protection District received a call for service for an accident with injuries on the southbound I-355 ramp to eastbound I-80. Upon arrival, the semi appeared to have crashed into the bridge and rolled down an embankment. There was one fatality and one person was injured and taken to a local hospital.

Currently the ramp has been shut down for reconstruction and is being investigated by the Illinois State Police.
